Bin There Games — Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bin There Games LLC (“Bin There Games”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with our game SEVER // ctrl (the “Game”), the Game’s Steam and Discord features, and this website (legal.binthere.games).

The short version

Who we are

Bin There Games LLC, a Florida limited liability company, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (under European law, we are the “controller”). You can reach us at hello@binthere.games.

What information is involved, and where it goes

Steam

The Game runs on Steam and uses Valve’s Steamworks services.

Valve handles this information as an independent company under the Steam Privacy Policy. Valve also makes some information available to us as the Game’s developer, such as sales and usage reports and whether an account owns the Game. We use it only to run, support and improve the Game.

Discord

If the Discord app is running on your computer, the Game sends it a short note about what you are doing: the Game’s name plus text such as “Main menu”, “Campaign” or the name of the level you are playing. Discord calls this “Rich Presence”. Discord may show it on your profile to other Discord users, depending on your Discord settings.

Discord handles this information under the Discord Privacy Policy.

Online multiplayer

In online matches, players’ computers connect directly to each other (“peer-to-peer”). We do not run a server in between.

On your computer

The Game keeps these files on your computer:

Saved games also contain a coded copy of your SteamID. It is there to identify where a saved game came from if a copy is leaked or shared without permission and reaches us. The Game never sends it anywhere.

The Game does not upload any of these files. If Steam Cloud saving is turned on for the Game, Steam may keep a copy of your saved games in your Steam account, under Valve’s privacy policy.

They are in the Game’s own folder inside:

You can delete them at any time; doing so resets your settings and progress.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you send, including any attachments (for example, a log file attached to a bug report). We use it only to reply to you and fix the problem.

Our community spaces

If you join a community space we run on another service, such as a Discord server or a Steam discussion board, what you post there can be seen by its other members. That service handles it under its own privacy policy, and our moderators can see and remove what you post.

GitHub hosts this website through GitHub Pages. We don’t use cookies, analytics or tracking on it. GitHub may record visitors’ IP addresses to keep the service secure and running; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the law requires us to tell you the legal basis for each use of your information:

Who receives information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

International transfers

We are based in the United States. Valve, Discord, GitHub and Google process information in the United States and other countries. Where European or UK law applies, they use recognized legal mechanisms for international transfers, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Information you email us is handled in the United States.

How long information is kept

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, for example in the EEA, the UK or California, you may have the right to:

To make a request, email hello@binthere.games. We will reply within one month, or sooner if the law requires. Because the Game does not send us information about you, we usually hold nothing beyond our emails with you. Information held by Steam or Discord is controlled through their own privacy tools, and we’re glad to point you to the right place. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

Children

The Game is not directed at children under 13, and Steam and Discord require their users to be at least 13 (or older in some countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the little information we hold, such as limiting who can access our email. No system is completely secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will tell you and the authorities when the law requires it.

Do Not Track

Neither the Game nor this website tracks you across other websites or services, so they behave the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we will also announce it on the Game’s Steam page or in the Game.
